As members and guests assembled at MFBC for Easter morning worship the old rugged cross was transformed through decoration with flowers.

The photo album starts with the Sunrise Service at University Baptist Church where Dr. Sutton preached and includes photos during the MFBC service as well as photos of the congregation.

Montevallo First Baptist Church Pastor Dr. Terry Sutton was named the city’s Rotarian of the Year on March 11 when the city held its 2010 Citizens’ Night Award Banquet. Doug Morris was named the Shelby Emergency Assistance Volunteer of the Year.

Homes, businesses, schools, and lives have been devastated by the earthquakes in Haiti. MFBC is joining in a community wide project to be part of the outpouring of support for the survivors. Funds raised will be deposited in an account at BankTrust and given to the Red Cross.

You will see collection jars around town and donations may be taken to BankTrust as well. Schools, the University and Churches all have events planned. Please call the Chamber of Commerce at 665.1519 or email if you have questions or want to be a part of the effort.

We collected $1,759.00 from the jars and the road block.  MFBC members that participated were Bill Allen, Dr. Sutton, Hannah Glaze, Olivia Glaze, Alex Scott, and Chuck Hornbuckle.

Dr. Roger Wilmore, former President of the Alabama Baptist Convention will be our guest evangelist. He is currently the Pastor of Deerfoot Baptist Church and is greatly used of God.

January is "Soup and Bowl" month again at MFBC. We will be collecting donations for the Baptist World Hunger Fund and foodstuffs, cleaning, and personal items for the Shelby Baptist Association and the Shelby Baptist Assistance in Montevallo.

You are invited to a couples shower for Matt and Belinda. Matt works with the College Ministry and Belinda is our violinist among their other involvements with the Church. They are registered at Wal-Mart, Sears, and Bed Bath and Beyond.

The shower will be held in the Felllowship Hall Sunday afternoon January 31 from 2-4.

Dr. Jerry Batson will lead our January 24, 25, 26, 27 Bible study of the Parables and Miracles of Jesus found in the gospel of Matthew.

Dr.  Batson is a former professor of the Beeson School of Divinity at Samford University and has been teaching this to Pastors as they are preparing to lead their churches in this study.
